Robotics Club

Who:  3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students
When:  after school Fridays from 2:15 to 3:30

Where:  LC Library

Students in Robotics Club have the opportunity to build and program robots to solve instructor-led challenges. The key emphasis is developing good software development habits in a relaxed, fun environment. The club uses the LEGOTM Mindstorms® EV3 platform and provides hardware (robots and district-supplied computers) for up to nine teams of two or three students.

The club has two enrollments. The first enrollment (October to April) is for fourth and fifth-grade students in good standing with the school. The second enrollment (April to June) is for third-grade students in good standing with the school.

Students interested in joining the club are asked to fill out a questionnaire at the beginning of the school year. With limited resources, the club has a limited number of openings for students so the purpose of the questionnaire is identify students who really want to be in the club. Each teacher is asked to review the questionnaires for their class and select up to four students to participate in the club.
